Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

Heat Display Edges
2 minApply a heat gun set to low or a hair dryer to the edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Apply Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the glass screen. Press down firmly to secure a tight seal against the surface.

Slice Screen Adhesive
5 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and insert a plastic prying pick. Slide the pick around the perimeter to cut through the adhesive.

Open Display Assembly
2 minGently swing the display open from the left side like a book cover. Do not pull the screen away entirely, as it is still connected by delicate cables.

Disconnect Display Cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry open the metal retaining bracket and disconnect the screen flex cable from the main board.

Unscrew Midframe Fasteners
4 minRemove the T3 Torx screws securing the midframe panel to the phone body. Keep track of all removed screws for reassembly.

Remove Plastic Midframe
2 minUse a spudger to gently pry up the plastic midframe shield from the edges. Lift it out of the chassis and set it aside.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the battery connector to disconnect it from the logic board. This prevents short circuits during repair.

Disconnect Camera Cables
2 minDisconnect the front-facing and rear camera ribbon cables from their sockets on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pop the coaxial antenna cables off their connectors on the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Screws
3 minRemove the remaining T3 Torx screws securing the logic board to the inner enclosure.

Lift Out Logic Board
3 minGently pry up the logic board from the bottom edge using a spudger. Lift the board clear of the chassis for repair or replacement.
