Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat Back Cover Edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer along the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and press down firmly to secure suction.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick under the plastic back cover.

Separate Bottom Edge
2 minSlide the opening pick horizontally along the bottom seam to release the internal plastic clips and adhesive.

Slice Left Side Adhesive
2 minSlide the pick around the bottom-left corner and up along the left edge of the device to unclip the shell.

Slice Right Side Adhesive
2 minInsert a second pick and slide it up the right edge, carefully releasing the plastic retention clips.

Release Top Edge
2 minGently work the pick across the top edge, taking care not to insert it deeper than 3 millimeters near the camera cutout.

Pry Open Back Cover
1 minLift the left side of the back cover like a book, opening it carefully from the left.

Unscrew Connector Bracket
2 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the fingerprint sensor connector bracket.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable straight up from its socket.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the old back cover away from the chassis completely and set it on your workspace.

Detach Fingerprint Reader
3 minApply light heat to the old back cover's fingerprint sensor area and carefully peel the sensor module free using a spudger.

Install Fingerprint Sensor
2 minAlign and adhere the fingerprint reader into its recess on the replacement back cover panel.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minPosition the back cover near the chassis and press the flex cable connector firmly into its motherboard socket.

Secure Connector Bracket
2 minReposition the metal bracket over the connector and tighten the T3 Torx screw until snug.

Snap Back Cover Closed
2 minAlign the replacement back cover over the frame and press firmly around all edges until the clips click into place.
