Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button and select Power Off on the screen. Eject and remove the SIM card tray.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply a heat gun or warm heating pad along the back glass edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear glass and pull upward to create a small gap along the seam.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass back and the body of the phone.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick carefully around all four sides of the phone to cut through the sticky seal holding the rear glass.

Lift off the rear glass
2 minGently lift the back glass off the phone chassis and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the top midframe cover
3 minUse a Torx T3 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic midframe and wireless charging coil assembly.

Remove the upper midframe cover
2 minPry up the edge of the midframe shield using a spudger and lift it out of the device.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Unscrew the speaker module
2 minRemove the Torx T3 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the lower frame.

Pry out the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the speaker module and carefully lift it up to remove it from the lower housing.

Insert the new speaker module
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker module with the lower frame cutout and press it flat into position.

Secure the speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the Torx T3 screws to fix the new speaker firmly to the frame.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and gently press down until it snaps in.

Reinstall the upper midframe cover
3 minPlace the upper midframe back into position and secure it with the original Torx T3 screws.

Clean and apply frame adhesive
4 minClean remaining old glue with isopropyl alcohol, then line the perimeter with new pre-cut adhesive strips.

Reseal the rear glass
2 minAlign the back panel carefully over the frame and press firmly along the edges to activate the adhesive seal.
