Step-by-step

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the side of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat Rear Glass Cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the rear glass for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction handle onto the lower third of the rear glass and pull upward to create a slim gap.

Slice Back Glass Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it along all sides to slice through the adhesive.

Lift Off Rear Glass
2 minCarefully separate the rear glass panel from the frame and set it aside.

Unscrew Midframe Cover
3 minRemove the T3 Torx screws securing the upper midframe cover and wireless charging assembly.

Remove Wireless Charging Assembly
2 minPry up the wireless charging coil shield using a spudger and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Unscrew Speaker Enclosure
2 minRemove the T3 Torx screws holding the bottom speaker module in place.

Remove Speaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the speaker enclosure and pry it up to reveal the lower daughterboard.

Disconnect Daughterboard Cables
2 minUnplug the main interconnect ribbon cable and antenna coaxial cables from the microphone daughterboard.

Extract Microphone Daughterboard
2 minRemove the single securing screw and carefully pry the microphone assembly out of the lower chassis.

Install New Microphone Board
3 minPlace the replacement microphone board into the socket, secure it with the screw, and reconnect all cables.
