Step-by-step

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the rear glass using a heat gun set to 80°C for approximately two minutes.

Slice rear glass adhesive
5 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam near the bottom edge and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Remove the back glass
2 minGently lift the back glass panel off the chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unbolt the midframe screws
4 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper midframe shield.

Detach the midframe assembly
2 minPry up the midframe assembly using a flat spudger and lift it off the motherboard.

4 minApply flux and use a desoldering wick with a soldering iron to clear residual solder from the motherboard pads, then clean with isopropyl alcohol.

3 minApply fresh flux to the clean pads and position the replacement Titan M chip precisely according to pin 1 orientation markings.

Solder the Titan Security Chip in place
5 minDirect hot air at 330°C over the chip until it reflows into place and seats evenly onto the pads.

Reinstall motherboard into chassis
3 minPlace the cooled motherboard back into the frame and secure it with the saved T3 Torx screws.

Reconnect battery and seal device
5 minReconnect all flex cables including the battery, reinstall the midframe, and press new back glass adhesive to seal the phone.
