Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minPower off the phone completely, then insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat the rear glass perimeter
2 minApply a heat gun set to low heat along the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup to back panel
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

Slice perimeter back glass adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it around the perimeter to cut through the seal.

Lift off the back glass cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear cover panel off the frame and clear away any remaining adhesive strings.

Unscrew the upper midframe cover
3 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the nine screws securing the upper graphite plastic shield and wireless coil.

Remove the wireless charging coil
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up the wireless charging module and lift it out of the device body.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Disconnect the main display flex cable
1 minUnplug the display ribbon press connector attached near the upper center of the motherboard.

Unplug the dual rear camera module
2 minDisconnect the two rear camera press connectors and carefully pry the camera assembly out of its slot.

Disconnect front sensors and Soli radar
2 minPry up the ribbon cable connectors for the Soli radar chip and front camera assembly near the top edge.

Disconnect lower interconnect flex cable
1 minUnplug the wide ribbon cable linking the main motherboard to the lower daughterboard.

Remove logic board mounting screws
2 minRemove the remaining two T3 Torx screws holding the logic board down to the aluminum frame.

Extract the main logic board
2 minInsert a spudger under the lower edge of the motherboard and lift it straight up and out of the housing.
