Step-by-step

Power down the device

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass and pull upward to create a thin seam.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the frame and the glass at the bottom of the phone.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges to cut the adhesive, taking care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 mm.

Open the back glass
2 minCarefully tilt the back glass open toward the right side, hinging it along the right edge like a book cover.

Disconnect the flash module cable
2 minUse a spudger to gently pry the rear camera flash connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove the old rear glass
1 minLift the rear glass panel free from the phone body and set it aside.

Clean old adhesive residue
5 minApply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to a microfiber cloth and scrape away remaining adhesive from the metal frame.

Apply new adhesive template
3 minPeel the protective backing from the new cut adhesive strip and align it carefully along the chassis edges.

Connect the replacement glass flex cable
2 minAlign and press the flash flex connector from the new back glass straight down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks.

Seal the replacement back glass
3 minAlign the replacement glass over the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the adhesive bond.
