Step-by-step

Power Down Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Heat Display Edges
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer perimeter of the glass display for two minutes to soften the screen adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the display assembly near the bottom edge. Pull up gently to create a micro-gap between the display bezel and the frame.

Slice Screen Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice carefully along all four sides of the display. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3mm to prevent damaging internal ribbon cables.

Hinge Open Display
2 minGently lift the top edge of the display assembly up and hinge it over toward the bottom of the phone. Take care not to pull on the flexible display ribbon cable still attached near the bottom.

Remove Display Shield Screw
1 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display connector bracket.

Remove Cable Bracket
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift the small metal retaining bracket off the display cable connector and set it aside.

Disconnect Display Cable
2 minPry the display press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger. Lift the display completely away from the phone body.

Unscrew Speaker Module
2 minRemove the T3 Torx screws holding down the lower speaker box assembly at the bottom of the device.

Remove Speaker Box
2 minInsert a spudger under the lower speaker module and lift it out of the phone frame to expose the microphone daughterboard beneath.

Disconnect Flex Interconnect Cable
2 minPry up the main flex interconnect press connector on the daughterboard using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minUse tweezers to carefully pop the coaxial antenna cable connector off its terminal on the daughterboard.

Remove Microphone Board
2 minLever the microphone daughterboard assembly out of its recessed slot in the frame using a plastic opening tool.

Install Replacement Microphone Board
3 minAlign the new microphone daughterboard into the bottom cavity, ensuring the primary microphone rubber gasket seats flush against the frame port.
