   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

   Heat display perimeter

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the screen for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the display to the frame.

   Apply suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the upper half of the display glass. Pull up gently on the ring to create a small gap near the top edge.

   Slice top display adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap at the top of the display. Slide the pick back and forth to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Slice side display adhesive

   Slide the opening pick down the left and right edges of the phone. Take care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 mm near the bottom edge.

   Open display panel

   Gently swing the top edge of the display away from the phone body like a book cover. Keep the display close to avoid straining the ribbon cable attached at the bottom.

   Unscrew display cable metal bracket

   Use a T3 Torx driver to remove the two screws securing the metal display connector bracket. Remove the bracket with tweezers.

   Disconnect display ribbon cable

   Use the edge of a spudger to pry the display cable connector straight up from its socket. Set the display assembly aside safely.

   Remove midframe perimeter screws

   Unscrew the T3 Torx screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis. Group the screws so you can return them to their original locations.

    Unclip and remove plastic midframe

    Insert a spudger under the midframe edges to release the plastic retaining clips. Lift the midframe assembly off the phone frame.

    Disconnect battery flex cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting power prevents accidental shorts during battery removal.

    Locate adhesive pull tabs

    Find the black pull tabs located at the bottom edge of the battery. Use tweezers to peel back the clear protective film covering the tabs.

    Pull adhesive stretch release tabs

    Grasp one adhesive tab and pull it slowly outward at a low angle. Stretch the adhesive flat and parallel to the chassis until the entire strip releases.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol if tabs break

    If an adhesive strip breaks under the battery, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the edge. Allow two minutes for the solvent to dissolve the bond.

    Pry battery out of housing

    Insert a flat plastic spudger under the non-connector edge of the battery. Gently lift until the battery frees itself from the well.

    Clean residual adhesive

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery compartment using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply replacement battery adhesive

    Place new double-sided adhesive strips onto the back of the replacement battery. Peel off the protective film liners.

    Seat new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the chassis well and press down firmly for ten seconds. Ensure the battery connector reaches the motherboard socket easily.
