Before you begin

Safety
- Wear eye protection when heating and prying glass to avoid injury from flying fragments.
- Disconnect the battery immediately after removing the rear covers to prevent electrical shorts.
- Do not puncture or bend the lithium-ion battery while removing internal components.

Step-by-step

Heat the rear glass
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the outer edges of the rear glass panel for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Slice the rear glass adhesive
3 minPress a suction cup onto the bottom glass, lift up to create a small gap, and insert an opening pick under the panel.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minSlightly tilt the rear glass up and use a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor connector straight off the motherboard.

Remove the rear glass panel
1 minLift the rear glass cover completely off the chassis and set it aside safely.

Remove the upper bracket screws
2 minUnscrew the four T3 Torx screws securing the upper metal motherboard shield to the frame.

Detach the upper motherboard shield
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift the upper metal shield clear of the phone.

Remove the wireless coil screws
2 minUnscrew the T3 Torx screws holding the wireless charging coil assembly to the phone chassis.

Peel off the wireless charging coil
3 minGently insert an opening pick under the edges of the wireless charging pad and peel it off the battery and housing.

Disconnect the battery
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the logic board with a plastic spudger to disconnect power.

Disconnect display and sub-board flex cables
2 minUse a spudger to pop the main display cable and lower USB-C interconnect cable connectors off the board.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables
2 minUnclip the black and white coaxial antenna cables from their logic board sockets using tweezers.

Remove the front-facing camera module
2 minDisconnect the dual front camera flex cables and lift the camera assembly out of its socket.

Remove the logic board retaining screw
1 minRemove the single T3 Torx screw anchoring the bottom corner of the logic board to the frame.

Lift out the logic board
3 minPry gently underneath the top edge of the logic board with a spudger and remove it from the phone chassis.
