Step-by-step

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply heat evenly around the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes using a heat gun set to low heat.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel near the bottom edge.

Insert an opening pick
1 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide a plastic prying pick into the seam.

Slice the rear adhesive
4 minCarefully slide the opening pick around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive seal.

Unseat the rear glass
2 minGently lift the back glass up from the right edge, pivoting it open like a book without straining the fingerprint cable.

Disconnect the fingerprint cable
2 minUse a spudger to pry off the small metal bracket and unclip the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector.

Remove the rear glass
1 minLift the rear glass completely away from the phone body and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew lower midframe screws
3 minRemove the T3 Torx screws securing the wireless charging coil cover and bottom sub-frame.

Disconnect the charging port flex
1 minPry up the main interconnect ZIF flex cable connector attached to the charging port daughterboard.

2 minSlide a flat prying tool under the USB-C daughterboard and lift the assembly out of the frame.

Position the replacement charging port
2 minPlace the new USB-C daughterboard assembly into the bottom housing and press down to seat it.

Reconnect the interconnect flex cables
3 minPress the main flex connector into place and reattach the two coaxial antenna cables with tweezers.

Reinstall the bottom speaker
2 minLower the speaker assembly back into position and secure it with its original T3 Torx screws.

Reconnect the battery cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its socket and press firmly until it snaps into place.

Reattach the wireless charging coil
3 minAlign the wireless charging coil pad over the battery and reinstall the securing T3 Torx screws.
