Step-by-step

Heat the rear glass
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the rear glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup to rear glass
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass panel.

Insert an opening pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup handle to create a gap and slide an opening pick beneath the glass.

Slice the rear adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully along the edges of the phone to slice through the perimeter adhesive.

Tilt the rear glass open
1 minGently lift the back glass open toward the left like a book cover.

Remove the bracket screws
2 minUnscrew the T3 Torx screws securing the fingerprint cable bracket.

Detach the fingerprint flex cable
1 minPry the fingerprint sensor connector straight up from the motherboard socket using a spudger.

Remove the rear glass

Slice front screen adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the front screen to break the adhesive bond.

Separate the broken screen
2 minLift the display panel away, carefully guiding its ribbon cable out through the frame slot.

Clean frame adhesive residue
3 minScrape off residual glue and clean the chassis perimeter with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new screen adhesive
2 minLay pre-cut adhesive strips precisely along the display ledge of the front frame.

Thread new display cable
