Safety
- Wear safety glasses while heating and handling the glass panel.

Step-by-step

Heat the Rear Glass
3 minApply heat around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass and pull upward to create a thin gap.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
5 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slice around the perimeter. Keep the pick shallow along the upper right side to avoid damaging the fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
3 minHinge the back cover open from the left side and use a spudger to pop off the fingerprint reader press connector.

Remove Lower Midframe Screws
3 minUnscrew the T3 Torx fasteners holding the lower speaker assembly in place.

Unclip Lower Speaker Bracket
2 minInsert a spudger underneath the edge of the speaker enclosure and pry it free from the phone.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
2 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard to cut power to the device.

Eject the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the bottom frame to remove the SIM tray.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
3 minUse tweezers to carefully unsnap the blue and white coaxial antenna cables from the bottom daughterboard.

Disconnect Main Interconnect Cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to disconnect the wide main flex cable from the daughterboard socket.

Remove Daughterboard Fasteners
3 minRemove the T3 Torx screws securing the primary microphone and USB-C board to the frame.

Pry Up Damaged Daughterboard
3 minGently pry underneath the bottom daughterboard with a spudger and lift the defective microphone assembly out.

Install Replacement Daughterboard
2 minPosition the new microphone board into the bottom recess and press it flat against the frame.

Secure Board and Reconnect Cables
4 minReinstall the daughterboard screws, then snap the interconnect flex and coaxial antenna cables into place.

Reinstall Speaker and Battery Cable
4 minReconnect the battery cable, reposition the lower speaker housing, and tighten its T3 Torx screws.

Reattach Rear Glass and Seal
5 minPlug in the fingerprint sensor cable, apply fresh adhesive strips to the edges, and press the back glass firmly into place.
