Step-by-step

Power Down the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select the power off option on screen to shut down the phone completely.

Heat the Display Edge
3 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer around the perimeter of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower half of the front glass, just above the bottom speaker slot.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap and slide a plastic opening pick under the glass edge.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the plastic pick along the lower seam to slice through the adhesive holding the screen to the frame.

Slice Left Edge Adhesive
2 minCarefully move the pick along the left side of the device, keeping insertion depth shallow to avoid internal flex cables.

Slice Right Edge Adhesive
2 minGuide the pick up the right side of the screen to cut the remaining side adhesive strip.

Slice Top Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick across the top edge near the front camera, ensuring the pick goes no deeper than 3mm.

Pivot the Display Open
2 minGently lift the bottom of the display glass upward like a hood, pivoting it from the top edge.

Remove Bracket Screws
2 minUse a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal display cable shield.

Remove Display Shield
1 minGrasp the metal cable shield with tweezers and lift it off the motherboard.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry the display flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

Separate Old Display
1 minLift the entire screen assembly off the phone frame and set it aside.

Clean Frame Residue
4 minScrape off residual adhesive around the frame perimeter using a spudger and isopropyl alcohol.

Transfer Speaker Mesh
3 minUse tweezers to carefully peel the earpiece speaker mesh from the old screen and adhere it to the new replacement screen.

Apply Screen Adhesive
4 minLay down custom pre-cut screen adhesive strips along the recessed border of the phone body.

Connect New Screen Cable
2 minAlign and press the display flex cable onto the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

Reinstall Display Shield
2 minPlace the metal shield over the connector and tighten the two T5 Torx screws.

Peel Adhesive Backing
1 minRemove the protective plastic backing film from the newly installed perimeter adhesive.

Seal Display Assembly
3 minAlign the replacement screen onto the frame and press firmly around all edges to set the adhesive seal.
