Step-by-step

Heat front display perimeter
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Lift display with suction cup
2 minAttach a suction cup near the top speaker and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Slice screen adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide around the edges to separate the display adhesive.

Fold display down
1 minCarefully tilt the screen forward from the top edge to reveal the internal display cable brackets.

Unscrew display cable bracket
2 minUse a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal display connector bracket.

Disconnect display ribbon cables
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up and disconnect the display and digitizer flex cables from the board.

Remove midframe panel screws
3 minUnscrew the T5 Torx screws securing the internal metal midframe shield to the body.

Pry out midframe assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the midframe panel and lift it out of the rear case.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard to prevent electrical shorts.

Unplug camera modules
2 minDisconnect the front-facing and rear camera flex connectors from the top section of the motherboard.

Disconnect ribbon and antenna cables
2 minUnplug the charge port ribbon cable and disconnect the coaxial antenna cables using precision tweezers.

Remove logic board screws
2 minUse a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the remaining retaining screws anchoring the logic board.

Extract logic board
2 minGently lift the logic board up from the bottom edge and pull it free from the phone chassis.
