- 2
Remove the pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws on the bottom edge of the device.
- 3
Heat the lower edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for about 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.
- 4
Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower third of the screen, directly above the Lightning port.
- 5
Create an opening gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to lift the display slightly and create a small gap at the bottom edge.

Slice the bottom adhesive
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it across the bottom edge to slice the water-resistant adhesive.
- 7
Separate the side display seals
3 minSlide the pick up the left and right edges of the phone, stopping short of the top edge to avoid damaging display tabs.
- 8
Open the iPhone display
1 minSwing the screen open from the left edge like a book, resting it against a sturdy object so it does not pull on the flex cables.
- 9
Unscrew the lower connector bracket
2 minRemove the three Y000 tri-point screws securing the metal battery and display cable shield.
- 10
Remove the lower bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal shield off the logic board and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its socket.
- 12
Disconnect display connectors
2 minUnplug the display panel flex cable and the digitizer flex cable using the flat edge of a spudger.
- 13
Detach the display assembly
1 minLift the display assembly away from the rear enclosure and set it flat in a clean workspace.
- 14
Unscrew the loudspeaker module
2 minRemove the four screws holding the speaker module to the lower right corner of the rear case.
- 15
Pry up the speaker assembly
2 minGently wedge the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker and lift it out of the phone body.
- 16
Install the new loudspeaker
2 minPosition the replacement loudspeaker into the lower right corner and press down until it sits flush.
- 17
Fasten the speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the four retaining screws to firmly lock the loudspeaker in place.
- 18
Reconnect display cables and battery
4 minAttach the display flex cables and battery connector back onto the logic board, then secure the bracket with its Y000 screws.
