Step-by-step

Power Off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the Side button and either Volume button until the slider appears. Slide to power off the device completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Warm the Lower Edge
2 minApply heat using a heat gun or hairdryer to the bottom edge of the display for about 90 seconds to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the front display glass, positioning it just above the home indicator area.

Create Display Gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup with firm, constant pressure to create a small gap between the display assembly and the frame.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it carefully along the bottom and side edges to cut through the display adhesive.

Open the Display
1 minSwing the screen open from the left edge toward the right side. Do not strain the delicate flex cables connected along the right edge.

Remove Lower Bracket Screws
2 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the four Y000 screws securing the lower logic board connector bracket.

Remove Connector Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift away the metal shield bracket covering the battery and display flex cable connectors.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect Display Cables
2 minDisconnect the display cable, touch cable, and front sensor assembly cable from their logic board sockets using a spudger.

Separate Display Assembly
1 minRemove the display assembly completely from the rear enclosure and place it on a clean workspace.

Unscrew Speaker Module
2 minRemove the three screws (Tri-point and Phillips) holding the speaker assembly to the bottom of the enclosure.

Remove Grounding Clip
1 minUse tweezers to carefully lift out the small grounding clip attached to the upper edge of the speaker module.

Lift Out Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the speaker module and pry gently to unseat it from the rear case.

Position New Speaker
2 minPlace the replacement loudspeaker into the lower cavity of the rear case and press down lightly to seat it.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall the grounding clip and tighten the retaining screws to firmly secure the new speaker module in place.
