Step-by-step

Power Off the iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone SE 2022 completely before starting any disassembly.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Heat the Lower Edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the display for about 90 seconds to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the screen, just above the Home button, and press firmly to seal.

Pry Open the Screen
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge, then insert an opening pick into the seam.

Slice Display Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick along the bottom and left edges to slice through the adhesive, taking care near the right side cables.

Open Display Assembly
2 minSwing the screen open from the left edge like a book and prop it securely against a small box.

Remove Lower Shield Bracket
3 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the lower metal display bracket.

Disconnect Battery Flex
1 minPry the battery connector straight up off the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect Display Flex Cables
2 minUse your spudger to disconnect the lower display cable and Home button flex cable from the logic board.

Remove Upper Shield Bracket
2 minUnscrew the three Tri-point Y000 screws securing the upper sensor assembly shield.

Separate Display Assembly
2 minDisconnect the front camera and sensor flex cable, then set the display assembly aside safely.

Disconnect Volume Flex Connector
2 minPry up the volume and power button assembly connector from the upper portion of the logic board.

Remove Volume Bracket Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the volume button bracket inside the frame.

Lift Volume Retaining Bracket
2 minGently lift out the metal volume button bracket using fine tweezers.

Peel Off Volume Cable
3 minPeel the flexible volume button ribbon and button switches away from the internal wall of the enclosure.

Install New Volume Cable
4 minAlign and press the replacement volume button flex cable into position against the internal metal buttons.
