Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the side button along with either volume button, then slide to power down the iPhone completely.

2 minUse a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat Lower Perimeter

3 minSlide the pick around the left and right edges of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal holding the glass.

2 minGently lift the display open from the left edge like a book, propping it upright against a stable object.

Unscrew Lower Display Bracket
2 minRemove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the lower metal display cable bracket to the logic board.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up out of its socket.

Disconnect Display Connectors
2 minPry up the display and digitizer press connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

Unscrew Grounding Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips screws holding the metal grounding bracket to the top of the speaker module.

Remove Grounding Bracket
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift the grounding bracket off the speaker module and set it aside.

Unscrew Lower Speaker
1 minRemove the remaining Phillips screw that anchors the lower speaker module to the phone case.

Pry Out Old Speaker
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and gently lever it up from the lower housing.

Install Replacement Speaker
2 minSet the new speaker into the bottom corner of the housing and press down until it sits flush.

Secure Speaker Module
3 minReinstall the grounding bracket and tighten all three Phillips screws to hold the speaker firmly in place.
