Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button until the slider appears. Slide to power off your iPhone SE completely before starting.

Remove the Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

Heat the Display Edges
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the bottom edge of the display for two minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass, just above the Home button, and press firmly to secure it.

Slice the Display Adhesive
4 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick into the bottom edge and slide along the left side to sever the adhesive.

Open the Display Assembly
2 minSwing the display open from the left edge like a book, taking care not to strain the delicate ribbon cables along the right side.

Remove Logic Board Bracket
3 minUnscrew the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower display bracket and remove the bracket with tweezers.

Disconnect the Battery
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect Display Cables
4 minUse a spudger to disconnect the display cable connector and the lower sensor assembly cable, then free the screen completely.

Remove Rear Camera Bracket
3 minUnscrew the Phillips #000 screws holding the rear camera bracket in place and carefully lift the metal shield out of the chassis.

Remove Logic Board Fasteners
5 minRemove the Standoff screws and Phillips screws securing the upper portion of the logic board to the rear enclosure.

Extract the Logic Board
4 minGently lift the logic board out of the case, ensuring no remaining flex cables snag on components as you remove it.

Unscrew Power Button Bracket
3 minRemove the two Phillips screws holding the power button metal bracket against the upper right interior frame.

Peel Up Power Button Cable
4 minUse precision tweezers to lift the power button actuator bracket out and peel the thin flex cable away from the internal sidewall.

Install New Power Button Assembly
5 minAlign the replacement power button cable into the metal recess, secure the button actuator, and reinstall the mounting bracket.
