Remove the pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the phone.
- 3
Heat the lower display edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer to the lower edge of the device for 2 minutes to soften the waterproof display adhesive.
- 4
Apply the suction cup
1 minAttach a suction cup to the lower half of the glass screen, positioning it just above the Home button.

Pry the display seam
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick into the lower seam.

- 9
Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.
- 10
Disconnect display connectors
2 minUse a spudger to disconnect the display cable and digitizer cable press connectors from the logic board.
- 11
Detach front sensor cable

Unscrew microphone bracket
3 minRemove the retaining screws securing the primary lower microphone and Lightning port assembly to the bottom case.
- 15
Peel lower flex assembly
3 minInsert a spudger under the microphone rubber gasket and lower flex cable to gently pry it up from the aluminum housing.
