Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the side button until the power slider appears, then slide to switch off the iPhone.

Remove the pentalobe screws
2 minUnscrew the two 3.5 mm P2 pentalobe screws located at the bottom edge of the iPhone.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the front display screen, directly above the home button.

Slice lower display adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening pick under the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.

Separate side screen edges
3 minSlide the opening pick along the left and right edges to slice through the remaining display adhesive.

1 minSwing the screen open to the right side like a book cover, resting it flat without putting strain on the flex cables.

Disconnect the battery cable
3 minUnscrew the lower bracket screws, lift off the metal plate, and pry up the battery connector using a spudger.

Disconnect display flex cables
2 minUse the edge of a spudger to detach the display and digitizer ribbon cables from the logic board.

Disconnect upper sensor assembly
3 minUnscrew the upper bracket and disconnect the front camera and earpiece sensor assembly cable.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the SIM tray hole to pop out and remove the tray.

Disconnect rear camera cable
2 minRemove the bracket covering the rear camera connector and disconnect the camera press cable.

Disconnect lower flex cables
3 minDisconnect the Lightning connector flex cable and antenna interconnect cables from the lower logic board.

Remove logic board screws
4 minUnscrew all standoff and Phillips screws securing the logic board assembly to the rear housing.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently pivot the lower edge of the logic board upward and remove it from the chassis.
