   Power off the device

   Press and hold the side button until the power slider appears, then slide to turn off the iPhone SE completely.

   Remove the Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located at the bottom edge of the phone.

   Heat the bottom edge

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer to the lower perimeter of the phone for 2 minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the glass screen, positioning it just above the Home button.

   Slice the lower display seal

   Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick into the bottom edge.

   Slice the side display adhesive

   Slide the opening pick up the left and right sides of the screen to cut through the remaining frame adhesive.

   Open the display panel

   Swing the screen open from the left side to the right side like a book cover. Do not completely separate the screen yet.

   Remove the lower bracket screws

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the lower metal cable bracket.

   Remove the lower bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the lower metal display connector bracket out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up off its socket on the logic board using the pointed end of a spudger.

    Disconnect display flex cables

    Use the spudger to disconnect the lower display cable and digitizer cable from the logic board.

    Remove upper bracket screws

    Unscrew the three Tri-point screws holding the top sensor assembly bracket in place.

    Separate display from frame

    Disconnect the upper sensor assembly cable and set the front display assembly safely aside.

    Remove loudspeaker screws

    Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Gently pry up the loudspeaker module using a flat spudger tool and lift it out of the rear case.

    Unscrew the Taptic Engine

    Remove the two screws securing the Taptic Engine vibrator module to the internal casing.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine ribbon connector and remove the module from the chassis.

    Unscrew the Lightning port assembly

    Remove the Phillips and standoff screws securing the Lightning port flex cable to the frame.

    Unstick the microphones

    Carefully pry the lower primary microphone and feed-forward microphone out of their slots in the frame.

    Peel up old charging port flex

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol underneath the flex cable, then pry it away from the bottom case gently.

    Position new charging port flex

    Align the new charging port assembly into the bottom frame, pressing the microphones securely into their rubber gaskets.

    Secure charging port screws

    Reinstall and tighten all Phillips and standoff screws to anchor the new Lightning port in place.

    Reinstall Taptic Engine

    Position the Taptic Engine back into place, reconnect its ribbon cable, and fasten its screws.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker

    Set the loudspeaker back over the lower assembly and tighten the five retaining screws.

    Reconnect display and battery

    Plug in the top sensor cable, display connectors, and finally the battery connector back into the board.

    Reattach display brackets

    Reposition the metal shields over the connectors and tighten all Tri-point screws.

    Close the display

    Align the top hooks of the display with the rear case and firmly press down the edges until it snaps flat.

    Install Pentalobe bottom screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning port.
