Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the side button and slide to turn off the iPhone 8 completely before beginning.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 3.5 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge next to the Lightning connector.

Warm Display Adhesive
2 minApply heat from a heat gun or hairdryer to the bottom edge of the phone for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the display seal adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the display screen, placed just above the Home button.

Create Display Gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick under the screen at the bottom edge.

Slice Edge Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick around the lower left and right edges of the phone to cut through the display adhesive.

Open Display Assembly
1 minGently swing the display open from the left side like a book, taking care not to strain the internal flex cables on the right.

Unscrew Lower Cable Bracket
2 minRemove the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower metal display cable bracket to the logic board.

Remove Lower Cable Bracket
1 minLift the lower cable bracket out of the device using tweezers and set it aside safely.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket.

Disconnect Lower Display Cables
2 minPry up the two lower display flex cables directly from their logic board sockets using a plastic spudger.

Unscrew Upper Sensor Bracket
2 minRemove the two Tri-point Y000 screws securing the upper sensor assembly cable bracket.

Separate Display Assembly
2 minDisconnect the upper sensor assembly connector and remove the entire front display assembly from the rear case.

Unscrew Grounding Bracket Screws
2 minRemove the three Tri-point Y000 screws securing the grounding bracket over the lower speaker assembly.

Remove Speaker Bracket Screws
2 minUnscrew the three Phillips #000 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly to the rear enclosure.

Lift Out Speaker Assembly
2 minGently insert a plastic opening tool beneath the loudspeaker and lift it out of the lower chassis.
