   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button until the power slider appears, then slide to switch off the device completely.

   Remove pentalobe bottom screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Warm the lower display edge

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer to the lower edge of the display for 90 seconds to soften the underlying waterproof seal.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the screen assembly, positioned just above the Home button.

   Pry open bottom gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup while pressing down on the frame to create a tiny gap between the screen and chassis.

   Slice bottom adhesive seal

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge and gently slide it back and forth to slice the adhesive.

   Slice perimeter adhesive seals

   Slide the opening pick up the left and right sides of the screen to release the remaining display adhesive.

   Open display panel

   Gently swing the display open to the right side like a book, resting it flat against a sturdy support box.

   Remove lower bracket screws

   Use a Tri-point Y000 driver to remove the four screws holding the lower display connector bracket.

    Detach lower display bracket

    Use tweezers to lift the metal lower display bracket off the logic board and set it aside.

    Disconnect battery connector

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket using a plastic spudger to cut power.

    Disconnect display cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the lower display cable and touch digitizer flex cable from the logic board.

    Remove upper bracket screws

    Remove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the upper front sensor connector bracket in place.

    Detach upper bracket

    Lift away the upper metal bracket with tweezers to reveal the front camera assembly connector.

    Disconnect front camera cable

    Pry up the front sensor assembly connector using the flat edge of a spudger.

    Separate screen assembly

    Lift the entire display assembly completely off the rear enclosure and place it screen-side down on a soft surface.

    Remove Home button bracket screws

    Remove the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the metal Touch ID bracket to the back of the front screen panel.

    Detach Home button bracket

    Lift and remove the Home button bracket using tweezers.

    Disconnect Home button flex

    Pry open the tiny flex cable connector securing the Home button assembly to the display backplate.

    Remove Touch ID sensor

    Apply mild heat to the lower front panel, then carefully push the Touch ID sensor through the front of the screen assembly.

    Transfer Touch ID to new screen

    Guide the original Touch ID sensor through the front of the new display panel and reconnect its ribbon cable.

    Reconnect display and seal housing

    Apply new adhesive strips along the housing frame, attach all display flex cables, reconnect the battery, and press the panel closed.
