   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button and either volume button until the power slider appears. Slide to power off the device completely.

   Remove pentalobe bottom screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on the bottom edge near the Lightning port.

   Heat lower display edge

   Apply heat to the lower edge of the phone using a heat gun or hairdryer for about 90 seconds to soften the adhesive seal.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass panel, positioned just above the Home button.

   Slice bottom edge adhesive

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small seam, then slide a plastic opening pick into the bottom edge.

   Slice left side adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom-left corner and up the left edge to cut through the display adhesive.

   Slice right side adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the right edge of the screen to sever the remaining side adhesive.

   Open display assembly

   Gently swing the display open from the left side like a book. Rest it against a solid object so it does not pull on the delicate flex cables.

   Unscrew lower bracket

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the lower display connector bracket.

    Remove lower bracket

    Use tweezers to lift the lower metal display bracket out of the rear case.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect display connectors

    Disconnect the lower display cable and the touch digitizer cable using the edge of your spudger.

    Unscrew upper sensor bracket

    Remove the three Y000 tri-point screws securing the upper front sensor assembly bracket.

    Disconnect front sensor cable

    Remove the metal bracket with tweezers and disconnect the front sensor assembly flex cable from the logic board.

    Separate display from housing

    Lift the display assembly free from the rear enclosure and place it screen-down on a clean work surface.

    Unscrew Home button bracket

    Remove the four Y000 tri-point screws securing the Home/Touch ID button bracket.

    Disconnect Touch ID sensor

    Pry up the underlying Touch ID connector clip and carefully unstick the cable ribbon from the screen assembly.

    Remove Touch ID sensor

    Gently push the Touch ID sensor through the front of the display glass to remove it completely.

    Unscrew earpiece speaker bracket

    Remove the three Phillips #000 screws and two Y000 screws holding the earpiece speaker and camera assembly.

    Remove earpiece speaker and sensor

    Lift out the earpiece speaker, then carefully peel up the front camera and sensor flex cable.

    Transfer components to new screen

    Install the Touch ID sensor, front camera, earpiece speaker, and sensor brackets into the new replacement screen assembly.

    Apply new perimeter adhesive

    Clean the rear case rim with isopropyl alcohol, then align and apply a new pre-cut display perimeter adhesive strip.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Connect the front sensor cable, display cables, and battery cable, then reinstall their respective metal brackets.

    Close phone and install screws

    Align the top hooks of the display with the frame, press down firmly along the edges, and reinstall the two bottom pentalobe screws.
