   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button along with either Volume button until the power slider appears. Slide to power off completely.

   Remove the bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Warm the lower display edge

   Apply a heated pad or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the waterproof seal.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the screen, just above the Home button. Pull up firmly to create a small gap.

   Slice the display perimeter adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge. Slide it along the left and right sides to cut through the adhesive.

   Open the display panel

   Swing the screen open from the left side like a book cover. Rest it against a tall object so it does not strain the upper cables.

   Unscrew the lower display bracket

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the lower display bracket. Lift away the bracket.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

   Disconnect display and digitizer cables

   Pry up the lower display cable and display sensor cable connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

    Detach the front display assembly

    Remove the upper bracket screws, disconnect the front camera/sensor connector, and set the screen assembly aside.

    Unscrew the Taptic Engine

    Remove the three Phillips screws securing the Taptic Engine vibration unit to the lower chassis.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine ribbon cable from the logic board and lift the unit out of the phone.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the Phillips and standoff screws securing the main loudspeaker at the bottom right corner.

    Lift out the loudspeaker

    Carefully remove the loudspeaker from the rear case, taking care not to catch on nearby antenna cables.

    Unscrew the charging port assembly

    Remove all Phillips and standoff screws securing the Lightning port connector, lower bracket, and microphone modules.

    Unstick the microphones and port

    Use a spudger to gently pry the two lower microphone pods and the Lightning port structure from the frame.

    Peel off the charging port flex cable

    Gently peel the entire flexible ribbon cable off the floor of the rear case and remove it from the device.

    Install the new charging port assembly

    Align and press the replacement flex cable onto the rear case adhesive, ensuring the microphones seat properly in their rubber gaskets.

    Reinstall loudspeaker and Taptic Engine

    Reposition the loudspeaker and Taptic Engine, reconnecting their press connectors and securing all mounting screws.

    Reconnect screen and seal device

    Reconnect display cables, attach the battery, replace all metal brackets, apply new display seal, and press the screen shut.
