Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the side power button, then slide to turn off the iPhone completely.

Remove the Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 3.4 mm P2 Pentalobe screws on the bottom edge near the Lightning port.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the glass screen, just above the Home button.

Create a Gap at the Bottom Edge
2 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting an opening pick into the lower seam of the phone.

Slice the Display Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully around the left and right edges to break the perimeter adhesive.

Open the Display Panel
1 minSwing the screen open to the right side like a book cover. Do not pull it completely away yet.

Unbolt the Lower Display Bracket
2 minRemove the four Tri-Point Y000 screws holding the lower display cable bracket in place.

Lift Out the Lower Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to remove the metal display cable bracket from the logic board.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off its socket using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect the Display Cables
2 minDisconnect the two lower display press connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

Remove the Upper Sensor Bracket
2 minRemove the two Tri-Point Y000 screws securing the upper cable bracket and lift the bracket off.

Detach the Front Sensor Connector
2 minDisconnect the upper sensor assembly cable and set the front display panel aside.

Unbolt the Taptic Engine
2 minRemove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the Taptic Engine assembly to the rear case.

Remove the Taptic Engine
1 minLift the Taptic Engine out of the case using tweezers and set it aside.

Remove the Loudspeaker Screws
2 minUnscrew the two Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly to the rear housing.

Lift Out the Speaker Assembly
1 minPry the original loudspeaker assembly up from the rear case and remove it.
