   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button until the slider appears, then slide to power down the device completely.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Apply mild heat from a heat gun or hairdryer to the lower edge of the phone for 1-2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the display assembly just above the home button.

   Create Lower Opening Gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap between the front panel and the rear case, then insert an opening pick.

   Slice Lower Adhesive Seal

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the water-resistant adhesive seal.

   Slice Left Side Adhesive

   Move the pick carefully up the left edge toward the top corner, cutting the adhesive seal without inserting the pick too deeply.

   Slice Right Side Adhesive

   Slide the pick along the right edge of the device to sever the remaining side adhesive.

   Release Display Top Clips

   Gently pull the display assembly slightly down toward the bottom edge to disengage the plastic alignment clips at the top.

    Open Display to the Side

    Swing the screen open to the right side like a book cover, resting it against a sturdy object so as not to strain the flex cables.

    Remove Lower Cable Bracket Screws

    Use a Tri-Point Y000 driver to remove the four Y000 screws securing the lower display connector bracket.

    Remove Lower Cable Bracket

    Use tweezers to remove the metal display cable bracket from the logic board.

    Disconnect Battery Connector

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using the pointed end of a spudger.

    Disconnect the front sensor and camera flex cable from its connector on the logic board.

    Lift the entire display assembly away from the rear enclosure and set it on a clean work surface.

    Remove Home Button Bracket Screws

    Use a Phillips #000 driver to remove the four screws holding the metal bracket over the Touch ID sensor.

    Remove Home Button Bracket

    Lift the metal Home button retention bracket off the display assembly with tweezers.

    Disconnect Touch ID Flex Cable

    Carefully pry the underlying Touch ID connector up from its matching ribbon cable socket.

    Separate Home Button Assembly

    Apply slight heat to the front lower glass, then gently push the Home button through the front face of the display.

    Transfer Components to New Screen

    Move the Home button assembly, earpiece speaker, and front camera/sensor ribbon to the replacement screen panel.

    Clean the outer rim with isopropyl alcohol, then align and stick the replacement perimeter adhesive gasket to the frame.

    Reconnect Display and Battery Cables

    Attach the front sensor cable, lower display cables, and finally the battery connector to their logic board sockets.

    Reinstall Cable Brackets

    Position the metal brackets over their connectors and secure them using their respective Tri-Point and Phillips screws.

    Align the top edges of the display with the phone housing and press gently along the perimeter until it snaps flush.
