   Remove bottom Pentalobe screws

   Power off your iPhone completely. Remove the two 3.4 mm Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

   Attach suction cup to lower screen

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the display assembly, just above the Home button. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the screen and the frame.

   Slice lower display adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge of the phone. Slide the pick along the bottom edge to slice through the waterproof adhesive.

   Slice side display adhesive

   Slide the opening pick up the left and right edges to break the remaining adhesive. Do not slide along the top edge where display clips are located.

   Open display assembly

   Pull the top edge of the display slightly down to disengage the clips. Swing the display open from the left edge like a book page.

   Remove lower connector bracket screws

   Remove the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower display cable bracket to the logic board.

   Remove lower connector bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the lower display cable bracket out of the rear case.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Use the edge of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

   Disconnect lower display cables

   Pry up the display cable connector and the digitizer cable connector straight up from their sockets.

    Remove upper bracket screws

    Remove the three Tri-point Y000 screws securing the upper display cable bracket.

    Disconnect front camera assembly

    Disconnect the front panel sensor assembly cable and set the entire display assembly aside.

    Eject SIM card tray

    Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole on the side frame and remove the SIM tray.

    Unscrew Taptic Engine bracket

    Remove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the bracket over the Taptic Engine.

    Remove Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable and lift the module out of the lower housing.

    Unscrew loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the eight Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly and microphone brackets in place.

    Remove loudspeaker

    Lift the loudspeaker out of the bottom of the rear case using tweezers.

    Softening bottom flex adhesive

    Apply mild heat from a hair dryer to the lower outer edge of the rear case to loosen the glue securing the microphone and Lightning flex.

    Pry up lower microphone and flex assembly

    Carefully slide a thin opening pick under the primary microphone and Lightning port flex assembly to separate it from the chassis.

    Install replacement microphone assembly

    Align the new flex assembly with the screw posts, press down firmly to set the microphone into place, and reassemble the device.
