   Power Off iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button until the slider appears, then slide to turn off the phone completely.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Unscrew the two 3.4 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge near the Lightning port.

   Heat Lower Display Edge

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the display assembly, just above the Home button.

   Separate Lower Screen Edge

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a slight gap between the front screen and the rear case.

   Slice Display Adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the left and right edges to cut through the waterproof seal.

   Open Display Assembly

   Carefully swing the display open from the left side like opening the cover of a book.

   Remove Lower Cable Bracket Screws

   Remove the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower display cable bracket to the logic board.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

    Disconnect Display Connectors

    Pry up the lower display cable and touch digitizer cable connectors from the logic board sockets.

    Remove Upper Bracket Screws

    Remove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the upper display cable bracket and remove the metal plate.

    Detach Front Sensor Connector

    Disconnect the front panel sensor assembly connector and separate the display assembly from the phone.

    Remove Taptic Engine Screws

    Unscrew the three Phillips #000 screws holding the Taptic Engine linear resonant actuator in place.

    Lift Out Taptic Engine

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the Taptic Engine out of the lower chassis.

    Unscrew Loudspeaker Assembly

    Remove the eight Phillips #000 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly and grounding brackets.

    Remove Loudspeaker

    Gently pry up and remove the loudspeaker assembly from the bottom enclosure.

    Remove Charging Port Screws

    Remove the four Phillips #000 screws anchoring the Lightning port to the bottom frame.

    Unseat Microphones

    Remove the two remaining bracket screws and pry the dual microphones out of their rubber housings.

    Peel Flex Cable

    Slide a flat spudger under the Lightning flex cable to carefully break the adhesive bonding it to the case.

    Remove Lightning Assembly

    Lift the entire Lightning connector flex cable assembly out of the iPhone chassis.

    Install New Charging Port

    Position the new Lightning connector ribbon cable into the rear case, pressing down firm adhesive sections.

    Reassemble Device Components

    Reinstall the loudspeaker, Taptic Engine, display connectors, brackets, and apply new display perimeter adhesive.
