   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the sleep/wake button, then slide the screen toggle to turn off the phone completely.

   Remove Pentalobe Bottom Screws

   Unscrew the two 3.4 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Apply a hair dryer or heat gun along the bottom edge of the phone for 90 seconds to soften the adhesive seal.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the display assembly, just above the Home button.

   Pry Open Lower Edge

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a slight gap, then slide a plastic opening pick under the bezel.

   Slice Left Edge Seal

   Slide the plastic pick up the left edge of the phone to cut through the water-resistant adhesive.

   Slice Right Edge Seal

   Slide the pick along the right side of the device, taking care not to insert it deeper than 2 mm near the screen cables.

   Open Display Assembly

   Gently swing the display open toward the right side, like opening the cover of a book.

   Unscrew Lower Display Bracket

   Remove the four Y000 Tri-point screws securing the lower display cable bracket to the logic board.

    Remove Lower Cable Bracket

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal lower display bracket and set it aside.

    Disconnect Battery Connector

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect Display Flex Cables

    Use the spudger to disconnect the lower display cable and digitizer cable from their board sockets.

    Unscrew Upper Display Bracket

    Remove the two Y000 Tri-point screws holding the metal bracket over the front panel sensor connector.

    Detach Screen Assembly

    Disconnect the front sensor assembly cable and lift the screen off the rear enclosure.

    Unpeel Battery Adhesive Pull-Tabs

    Peel back the black tips of the two adhesive pull-tabs from the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pull First Adhesive Strip

    Slowly pull one adhesive tab at a flat angle along the side of the battery until the strip slides out completely.

    Pull Second Adhesive Strip

    Pull the second adhesive strip slowly at a low angle until it releases from underneath the battery.

    Lift Out Battery

    Lift the old battery out of the housing. Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol under the battery if any adhesive remains stuck.

    Install New Adhesive Strips

    Attach replacement battery adhesive strips to the underside of the new battery, then press the battery firmly into the case.

    Reattach Display Assembly Cables

    Connect the front sensor cable, display cables, and battery connector back into their logic board sockets.

    Reinstall Metal Brackets

    Place the upper and lower metal brackets back over their connectors and secure them with the Y000 Tri-point screws.

    Seal Screen and Bottom Screws

    Align the top hooks of the display with the frame, press the edges flat until flush, and reinstall the two bottom P2 Pentalobe screws.
