Step-by-step

Power Off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button until the power slider appears, then slide to turn off the device completely.

Remove the Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 3.4 mm Pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge of the iPhone next to the Lightning connector.

Heat the Lower Edge
2 minApply mild heat from a heat gun along the bottom edge for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress the suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the screen, just above the home button.

Separate the Display Assembly
4 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic prying tool to slice through the adhesive along the edges.

Open the Display like a Book
2 minSwing the display open from the left side to the right side. Rest the screen vertically against a stable object so it does not strain the cables.

Remove the Lower Cable Bracket Screws
3 minUnscrew the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower display cable bracket to the logic board.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minUse the edge of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect the Display and Touch Flex Cables
2 minUse the spudger to pry up the display cable connector and the touch digitizer cable connector from the board.

Remove the Upper Sensor Assembly Bracket
2 minUnscrew the three Tri-point Y000 screws holding the top connector bracket and lift the metal bracket out with tweezers.

Disconnect the Upper Front Sensor Cable
2 minPry the front camera and sensor assembly cable connector straight up from its logic board socket to free the display.

Eject the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or straightened paperclip into the SIM tray hole and push firmly to pop the tray out.

Remove the Rear Camera Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the rear camera bracket in place and lift the bracket out.

Disconnect the Dual Rear Camera Cables
2 minUse a spudger to disconnect both camera flex cables from the upper portion of the logic board.

Unthread the Logic Board Screws
5 minRemove the standoff screws and Phillips screws securing the top antenna component and the logic board body to the rear case.

Lift Out the Logic Board
3 minGently tilt the logic board up from the bottom edge and maneuver it out of the enclosure, ensuring no flex cables catch on the board.
