   Power down the iPhone

   Press and hold the Side button until the power slider appears, then slide to switch off the phone.

   Remove bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

   Warm the lower edge

   Apply a warm iOpener or heat gun to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the display assembly, positioned just above the Home button.

   Create a display gap

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm pressure to create a small gap between the front panel and rear case.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the small gap at the bottom edge of the phone.

   Slice bottom and left adhesive

   Slide the pick around the bottom-left corner and up the left edge of the phone to cut through the display adhesive.

   Slice right edge adhesive

   Reinsert the pick at the bottom edge and slide it up the right edge, stopping before the top-right corner.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently swing the screen open from the left side like opening a book cover.

    Remove lower display bracket screws

    Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the lower display cable bracket.

    Detach lower display bracket

    Use tweezers to lift the metal lower display bracket off the logic board.

    Disconnect the battery

    Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket.

    Disconnect lower display cables

    Pry up the two lower display press connectors from their sockets on the logic board.

    Remove upper bracket screws

    Remove the three screws securing the upper display assembly bracket using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

    Separate display from body

    Disconnect the front sensor assembly cable and set the entire display assembly aside.

    Unstick battery pull-tabs

    Peel back the three black adhesive pull-tabs from the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pull out adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each adhesive strip straight out from underneath the battery at a low angle.

    Pry out remaining battery

    If a strip snaps, apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol under the battery and lift it out with a plastic opening card.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Apply new replacement adhesive strips to the backside of the new battery, smoothing out any air bubbles.

    Install the new battery

    Set the new battery into the rear enclosure and press down firmly to secure it.

    Reconnect display and sensor cables

    Attach the front sensor cable and display cables back into their logic board sockets.

    Reconnect battery and reattach brackets

    Snap the battery connector in place, replace all metal brackets, and secure them with their original screws.

    Close the display assembly

    Align the top hooks of the screen into the case and press firmly down the sides until it snaps flush.

    Fasten bottom pentalobe screws

    Reinstall the two P2 pentalobe screws into the bottom edge of the phone to complete the repair.
