   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Power off the iPhone completely before starting disassembly. Remove the two 3.4 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

   Apply Suction Cup

   Attach a suction cup to the lower left corner of the display assembly, just above the Home button. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the screen and frame.

   Separate Display Adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along the lower edge and up the sides to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Open Display Assembly

   Gently lift the bottom edge of the display to open the phone like a book, using the top edge as a hinge. Rest the screen against a solid object at a 90-degree angle.

   Remove Battery Connector Bracket

   Unscrew the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery cable bracket to the logic board. Lift the bracket off with tweezers and set it aside.

   Disconnect Battery Connector

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket. Keep the battery disconnected during the rest of the repair.

   Remove Display Cable Shield

   Remove the four Phillips #000 screws holding the display cable bracket in place. Lift the metal shield off the logic board.

   Disconnect Display Cables

   Use a spudger to disconnect the front camera flex cable, digitizer cable, and LCD display cable. Lift the display assembly completely away from the rear enclosure.

   Eject SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or straightened paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Press firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

    Remove Rear Camera

    Unscrew the two Phillips #000 screws securing the rear camera bracket. Disconnect the camera connector using a spudger and lift the camera module out.

    Unscrew Logic Board Fasteners

    Remove the remaining Phillips #000 screws and standoff screws holding the logic board to the frame. Take care to note the position of each unique screw type.

    Lift Out Logic Board

    Gently maneuver the logic board out of the rear case, ensuring no flex cables catch on the board edges as you remove it.

    Unscrew Volume Button Brackets

    Unscrew the Phillips screws securing the volume buttons and mute switch brackets inside the chassis. Remove metal retaining brackets using tweezers.

    Remove Damaged Volume Flex Cable

    Apply mild heat to the back frame if needed, then use a spudger to gently peel the volume flex cable away from the aluminum case.

    Install Replacement Flex Cable

    Position the new volume flex cable onto the adhesive contacts inside the housing. Align the button switches, reinstall metal brackets, and tighten the screws.
