Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears, then slide to turn off the device completely.

Remove pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws on either side of the Lightning connector.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the display panel, just above the Home button.

Pry open lower screen edge
3 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool into the seam above the headphone jack.

Slice perimeter display adhesive
3 minSlide your opening pick around the lower and side edges to cut through the water-resistant adhesive sealant.

Open display assembly
1 minGently swing the Home button end of the display up to a 90-degree angle relative to the rear case.

Unscrew battery cable bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery cable bracket to the logic board.

Remove battery bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift and remove the metal battery connector cover from the phone.

Disconnect battery connector
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a spudger.

Unscrew display cable bracket

Disconnect digitizer cable
1 minPry the digitizer flex cable connector straight up from the logic board.

Disconnect display data cable
1 minDisconnect the display data cable connector from its socket on the board.

Separate display from case
1 minLift the display assembly completely away from the rear chassis.

Unscrew home button bracket
2 minRemove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the Home button bracket to the display.

Remove home button bracket
1 minLift the metal Home button bracket off the display assembly.

Disconnect home button ribbon
2 minPry up the Home button ribbon cable connector from its matching socket on the display cable.

Detach home button assembly
3 minApply gentle heat to the front glass, then carefully push the Home button up through the glass to free it.

Install home button into new screen
3 minAlign the Home button into the front of the new display assembly and reconnect its ribbon cable.

Secure home button bracket
2 minPlace the Home button bracket back in position and drive the three Phillips #000 screws.

Attach display cables to logic board
3 minSnap the display data, digitizer, and front camera cable connectors onto their sockets on the logic board.

Install display cable bracket
2 minPosition the display cable bracket over the connectors and reinstall the four Phillips screws.

Reconnect battery press connector
1 minPress the battery connector down onto its socket until it clicks into place.

Reinstall battery bracket
2 minPlace the battery bracket back over the connector and tighten its two Phillips screws.

Seat display into frame
2 minHook the top edge of the display into the rear case, then carefully press down along the sides to snap it shut.

Reinstall bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUse your P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to reinstall the two 3.4 mm screws on the bottom edge.
