   Unscrew pentalobe bottom screws

   Power down the iPhone completely. Remove the two 3.4 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Attach suction cup to display

   Press the suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the front screen, just above the Home button.

   Pry open lower screen edge

   Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom of the display. Insert a plastic prying tool into the gap to release the lower clips.

   Slice through display adhesive

   Slide a plastic opening pick around the bottom and side edges of the phone to separate the water-resistant adhesive seal.

   Remove battery bracket screws

   Open the screen to a 90-degree angle. Unscrew the two Phillips #000 screws securing the metal battery connector bracket and lift it out with tweezers.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

   Remove display cable shield

   Remove the four Phillips #000 screws holding the upper display cable shield in place, then remove the metal shield.

   Disconnect display flex cables

   Use your spudger to disconnect the front camera, digitizer, and display cables from the board. Set the front display assembly aside.

   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole on the right edge of the iPhone to pop out the SIM card tray.

    Remove upper antenna bracket

    Unscrew the screws holding the top antenna bracket near the upper corner of the rear case and lift the bracket out.

    Disconnect rear camera connector

    Pry the rear camera flex cable connector straight up off the logic board using the pointed tip of a spudger.

    Remove logic board screws

    Unscrew the interior Phillips and standoff screws securing the logic board to the aluminum rear casing.

    Lift out logic board

    Carefully tilt the logic board out from the bottom end and slide it free from the rear case without snagging any stray ribbon cables.

    Unscrew power button bracket

    Remove the two Phillips screws securing the internal metal power button bracket to the top-right frame.

    Peel off old power button flex cable

    Use tweezers and a spudger to gently loosen the adhesive backing on the power button flex cable, microphone, and flash assembly, then remove it.

    Install new power button flex assembly

    Align the replacement flex cable inside the upper housing, press down the adhesive backing, reinstall the metal bracket, and secure it with screws.
