Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the sleep/wake button, then slide the power switch to turn off the iPhone 6s completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the phone next to the Lightning port.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the display assembly just above the home button.

Lift Front Panel
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the display assembly and the rear case.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick or spudger into the gap along the bottom edge of the device.

Slice Screen Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around the perimeter of the phone to slice through the adhesive securing the display.

Open Display Assembly
1 minGently swing the home button end of the display up, using the top edge as a hinge to open it to a 90-degree angle.

Unscrew Battery Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery cable bracket to the logic board.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minUse a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Unscrew Display Cable Bracket
2 minRemove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the display cable bracket to the upper right of the logic board.

Disconnect Display Cables
3 minDisconnect the front-facing camera, digitizer, and display cables using the flat end of a spudger.

Remove Display Assembly
1 minSeparate the display assembly completely from the rear enclosure.

Unscrew Home Button Bracket
2 minRemove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the home button bracket to the display panel.

Remove Home Button Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift and remove the metal home button bracket from the screen.

Disconnect Home Button Cable
1 minUse the pointed tip of a spudger to disconnect the home button flex cable from its matching connector.

Apply Heat to Gasket
2 minApply mild heat using a hair dryer to the lower front glass to soften the home button rubber gasket adhesive.

Push Out Home Button
2 minGently press the home button up through the front of the display assembly to remove it completely.
