   Power down the iPhone

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears, then slide to power off.

   Remove bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower left corner of the screen assembly, just above the home button.

   Pry open the display

   Pull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic prying tool under the glass lip to break the adhesive seal.

   Open display assembly

   Gently lift the home button end of the screen away from the rear case, hinging it at the top to a 90-degree angle.

   Remove battery bracket screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal battery connector bracket.

   Remove battery bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the metal battery connector cover off the logic board.

   Disconnect battery connector

   Use the flat edge of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector up from its socket on the logic board.

   Remove display bracket screws

   Remove the four Phillips #000 screws holding the display cable bracket in place, keeping track of their exact locations.

    Remove display bracket

    Lift the metal display cable bracket out of the phone body.

    Disconnect front panel cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the front camera, digitizer, and display cables from their sockets on the logic board.

    Separate display from chassis

    Lift the entire display assembly away from the rear enclosure and place it in a safe area.

    Uncover adhesive pull tabs

    Peel back the two adhesive tab tips from the bottom edge of the battery using tweezers.

    Pull adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each adhesive tab out flat and parallel to the phone chassis until the strips stretch out completely.

    Remove old battery

    Lift the old battery out of the chassis. If stuck, apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the edge.

    Prepare new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective film off the new adhesive strips and stick them onto the back of the replacement battery.

    Install new battery

    Place the new battery into the enclosure and press down firmly to secure it to the chassis adhesive.

    Reconnect battery connector

    Align and press the battery connector into its socket on the logic board until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall battery bracket

    Position the battery connector bracket over the cable and secure it using the two Phillips screws.

    Reconnect display cables

    Press the front camera, digitizer, and display cables back onto their logic board sockets.

    Reinstall display bracket

    Place the display bracket over the connected cables and secure it with its four original Phillips screws.

    Close display assembly

    Align the top edge of the screen into the top of the chassis, then press along the sides to snap the screen flush.

    Reinstall pentalobe screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 pentalobe screws into the bottom edge of the phone using your P2 driver.
