Step-by-step

Power down the iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone 6s Plus completely before starting disassembly to prevent electrical shorts.

Remove Pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.4 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the screen, just above the Home button.

Slice display adhesive
4 minPull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool around the bottom and sides to slice through the adhesive.

Remove battery bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery cable bracket and lift the bracket out with tweezers.

Disconnect battery
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Remove display bracket screws
2 minRemove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the display cable bracket to the top-right of the logic board.

Disconnect display cables
3 minDisconnect the front camera, digitizer, display, and home button cables using a spudger, then set the display aside.

Remove loudspeaker screws
3 minRemove the five Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the lower case.

Lift out loudspeaker
2 minInsert a spudger under the loudspeaker assembly and carefully lift it out of the rear case.

Remove Taptic Engine screws
2 minRemove the three Phillips screws securing the Taptic Engine and lift it clear of the lower housing.

Disconnect antenna cable
1 minUse the tip of a spudger to pry the lower cellular antenna coaxial cable from the Lightning flex assembly.

Remove Lightning flex screws
3 minRemove the four Phillips screws and two standoff screws securing the flex assembly and microphone bracket to the case.

Unstick primary microphone
2 minGently insert a precision tool beneath the primary microphone flex to loosen the adhesive securing it near the bottom grill.

Peel up flex cable assembly
3 minSlide a plastic opening pick under the flex cable to peel the entire assembly away from the rear enclosure.

Install replacement microphone flex
3 minAlign the new microphone and flex assembly onto the alignment posts on the lower rear case and press down gently.
