   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the power slider to shut down the device immediately.

   Remove the bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws on either side of the Lightning connector.

   Attach a suction cup to the glass

   Unscrew the two Phillips screws securing the metal battery connector bracket to the logic board.

   Disconnect the battery press connector

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off its logic board socket.

   Remove the display cable bracket

   Unscrew the five Phillips screws holding the upper metal display cable shield and remove it with tweezers.

   Disconnect the display panel cables

   Use the edge of a spudger to unclip the front camera, digitizer, display, and home button flex cables.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole along the side edge and push firmly to release the tray.

    Disconnect the rear camera connector

    Unscrew the metal camera bracket, lift it off, and pry the rear camera flex cable up from the board.

    Unscrew the logic board fasteners

    Remove all Phillips and standoff screws securing the logic board inside the rear housing.

    Lift the logic board out of the chassis

    Carefully pivot the logic board up from the bottom edge and lift it out, ensuring no cables catch on components.

    Clean liquid corrosion with isopropyl alcohol

    Submerge the logic board in high-purity isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub corrosion off components using a soft toothbrush.

    Inspect the board under magnification

    Examine logic board components with a magnifying glass to verify all mineral deposits and residue have been removed.

    Lay the logic board flat on a lint-free microfiber cloth in a warm area and let it dry thoroughly for at least 3 hours.

    Reinstall the logic board

    Position the dry logic board back into the rear enclosure, making sure all flex cables sit clear of its edges.

    Reconnect all internal cables and brackets

    Snap the display and battery press connectors back into their sockets and secure all metal brackets with screws.

    Close the screen assembly and secure screws

    Align the top display tabs into the case, press the screen flat until clips snap, and reinstall the two Pentalobe screws.
