Power Off the iPhone
1 minHold down the Sleep/Wake button and slide to power off the device completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws flanking the Lightning connector.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the display glass just above the home button.

Lift the Display
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup while holding down the rear case to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Tool
1 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the front glass and the rear case.

Pry Side Clips
2 minGently pry up along the left edge of the screen to unclip the internal display latches.

Release Right Clips
2 minSlide the plastic pick along the right edge to release the remaining display clips.

Prop Open Display
1 minOpen the display to a 90-degree angle and lean it against a stable object.

Unscrew Battery Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the lower metal battery connector bracket.

Remove Battery Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift out the metal battery connector bracket from the phone.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket using a plastic spudger.

Unscrew Display Bracket
3 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws securing the upper display assembly cable bracket.

Remove Display Bracket
1 minLift the upper display cable bracket out of the phone using tweezers.

Disconnect Camera Cable
1 minPry the front-facing camera and sensor cable connector straight up from the logic board.

Disconnect Home Button Cable
1 minDisconnect the home button cable using the flat edge of a spudger.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry the display data cable connector off the logic board with a spudger.

Disconnect Digitizer Cable
1 minDisconnect the digitizer cable connector straight up from its socket.

Separate the Display
1 minRemove the entire display assembly from the rear case and store it in a safe place.

Unfold Adhesive Tabs
2 minPeel back the two black battery adhesive pull-tabs from the bottom edge of the battery.

Pull First Strip
3 minSlowly pull the left adhesive strip horizontally away from the bottom of the battery until it is removed.

Pull Second Strip
3 minPull the right adhesive strip horizontally away from the battery until it slides out fully.

Remove the Battery
1 minLift the old battery out of the rear case using a plastic spudger.

Apply New Adhesive
2 minAffix replacement adhesive strips onto the underside of your new battery.

Install Replacement Battery
2 minPlace the new battery into the rear case and press down firmly to secure it.
