Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the power slider appears on screen. Slide to turn off the iPhone completely.

Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.9 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Attach Suction Cup Tool
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower front display glass just above the Home button.

Pry Open Lower Display Edge
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup while prying the bottom edge of the glass using a plastic opening tool.

Disconnect Touch ID Cable
3 minSlightly lift the display assembly, pry off the metal Touch ID bracket, and disconnect the flex cable connector beneath.

Remove Display Cable Shield Screws
2 minUnscrew the four Phillips #000 screws securing the display cable bracket to the logic board.

Disconnect Front Display Flex Cables
3 minRemove the display bracket and use a spudger to pop off the front camera, digitizer, and LCD flex cables.

Disconnect the Battery Connector
2 minRemove the two Phillips screws securing the battery bracket, lift off the bracket, and disconnect the battery cable.

Remove Loudspeaker Screws
3 minRemove the three Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the bottom right of the rear case.

Lift Out Damaged Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a flat plastic spudger beneath the loudspeaker module and gently pry it out from the case.

Position Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module into the lower case cavity, ensuring all contact pins rest properly.

Secure Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minReinstall and tighten the three Phillips screws to hold the loudspeaker module firmly in place.

Reconnect Display and Battery Cables
4 minPress the battery and screen connectors back onto the logic board and reinstall both metal protective brackets.

Reconnect Touch ID Sensor Cable
3 minReconnect the Touch ID flex cable at the bottom, snap its metal clip into place, and press the display flush into the frame.

Reinstall Pentalobe Screws
2 minInsert and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge near the charging port.
