   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears, then slide to turn the device completely off.

   Remove the Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.9 mm screws on either side of the Lightning connector.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup onto the screen just above the Home button assembly until it seals firmly.

   Pry Open the Bottom Edge

   Pull up gently on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool into the seam above the Home button.

   Unhook the Touch ID Bracket

   Open the phone slightly and use tweezers to detach the small metal bracket covering the Touch ID cable.

   Disconnect the Touch ID Cable

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to pry the Touch ID cable connector straight up from its socket.

   Open Display Assembly

   Rotate the screen up to a 90-degree angle relative to the rear case.

   Remove Display Shield Screws

   Remove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the metal display cable bracket to the logic board.

   Remove Display Cable Shield

   Lift the metal display cable shield out of the phone using tweezers.

    Disconnect Front Camera Cable

    Use the flat edge of a spudger to disconnect the front-facing camera and sensor cable.

    Disconnect Digitizer Cable

    Disconnect the digitizer cable connector straight up from its logic board socket.

    Disconnect Display LCD Cable

    Pry the LCD cable connector up from the logic board to completely separate the front panel.

    Remove Battery Connector Shield Screws

    Remove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the battery connector shield to the logic board.

    Remove Battery Connector Shield

    Lift the metal battery shield away from the phone body.

    Disconnect Battery Connector

    Pry the battery connector off the logic board socket using the flat edge of a spudger.

    Peel Battery Adhesive Tabs

    Peel back the two white adhesive pull tabs from the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pull First Adhesive Strip

    Slowly pull the first adhesive tab straight out toward the bottom of the phone, keeping it flat and unwrinkled.

    Pull Second Adhesive Strip

    Pull the second adhesive tab in the same manner until the strip releases completely.

    Remove Old Battery

    Lift the battery out of the rear case using a plastic prying tool if any residue remains.

    Apply New Adhesive Strips

    Apply replacement adhesive strips to the back of the new battery, smoothing out any air bubbles.

    Install New Battery

    Place the new battery into the rear case and press down firmly to secure it.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Press the battery cable connector into its logic board socket and reinstall the metal shield.

    Reconnect Display Cables

    Reconnect the LCD, digitizer, and camera cables, then reattach the display shield bracket.

    Reconnect Touch ID Cable

    Attach the Touch ID cable connector and lock the metal bracket over the connection.

    Close and Fasten Frame

    Align top tabs of display, press screen flat into housing, and reinstall two bottom Pentalobe screws.
