Step-by-step

Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the Sleep/Wake button, then slide to power off the iPhone 5c completely.

Remove bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the screen, directly above the home button.

Pry open display panel
3 minPull up on the suction cup while gently prying open the bottom display seam using a plastic opening tool.

Open display assembly
1 minPivot the front display panel open from the bottom edge, keeping it angled no more than 90 degrees.

Unscrew battery bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery connector bracket to the logic board.

Remove battery bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal battery connector bracket out of the phone.

Disconnect battery
2 minGently pry the battery cable connector straight up off its socket using the flat end of a spudger.

Unscrew display bracket
3 minRemove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the upper display cable shield.

Remove display bracket
1 minLift the metallic display cable shield off the logic board using tweezers.

Disconnect camera cable
2 minPry the front-facing camera and sensor flex cable straight up off its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect digitizer cable
2 minPop the digitizer flex cable connector off its socket using a plastic spudger.

Detach LCD display
2 minDisconnect the LCD flex cable and lift the display panel away from the rear enclosure.

Remove speaker screws
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly to the lower right corner.

Extract original speaker
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the rear case.

Install replacement speaker
3 minPosition the new loudspeaker into the bottom corner, ensuring contact pins align properly with the dock connector flex.

Secure speaker enclosure
2 minReinstall the two Phillips #000 screws to firmly attach the new loudspeaker to the case.
