   Power down the iPhone

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the power switch on screen to turn off the iPhone completely.

   Remove the bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

   Attach the suction cup tool

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the screen just above the home button to create a tight seal.

   Lift the display assembly

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm, even pressure to create a small gap between the front panel and the rear case.

   Insert plastic opening tool

   Insert the edge of a plastic opening tool into the gap near the bottom of the device.

   Release the display clips

   Gently slide the plastic opening tool along the left and right edges to release the plastic clips holding the display.

   Prop open the display

   Open the display to roughly a 90-degree angle relative to the rear case. Support it so it does not pull on the delicate top cables.

   Remove battery bracket screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal battery connector bracket to the logic board.

   Lift out battery bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the metal battery connector bracket out of the device.

    Disconnect the battery

    Use the flat edge of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

    Remove display bracket screws

    Remove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket.

    Remove display bracket

    Lift and remove the front panel assembly cable bracket from the top right of the logic board.

    Disconnect front camera cable

    Use a spudger to disconnect the front-facing camera and sensor cable.

    Disconnect LCD cable

    Use the spudger to disconnect the LCD display cable connector.

    Disconnect digitizer cable

    Use the spudger to disconnect the digitizer cable connector.

    Detach display assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the rear case and set it aside in a safe place.

    Unfold battery adhesive tab

    Use tweezers to peel back the black adhesive tab located at the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pull left battery adhesive strip

    Slowly pull the left adhesive strip flat and straight down away from the bottom of the phone until it comes out completely.

    Pull right battery adhesive strip

    Slowly pull the right adhesive strip flat and straight down away from the bottom of the phone until fully removed.

    Lift battery from rear case

    Gently lift the battery out of the rear case using a flat plastic spudger if any light adhesive remains.

    Apply replacement adhesive strips

    Affix new battery adhesive strips onto the back of the replacement battery, avoiding covering the flex cable.

    Position new battery inside frame

    Place the new battery into the rear case, pressing down firmly to secure it in place.

    Reattach display cables

    Reconnect the digitizer, LCD, and front camera flex cables to their sockets on the logic board.

    Secure display cable bracket

    Position the front panel cable bracket over the connectors and reinstall the four Phillips #000 screws.

    Connect replacement battery

    Press the battery connector down onto its socket on the logic board until it snaps into place.

    Secure battery bracket

    Place the metal battery bracket over the connector and reinstall the two Phillips #000 screws.

    Press display into frame

    Align the top of the display with the frame and press firmly along the edges to snap the side clips into position.

    Install bottom Pentalobe screws

    Reinstall the two P2 Pentalobe screws adjacent to the Lightning connector to lock the screen into place.
