Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the top power button until the slider appears, then slide to turn off the iPhone 5.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a small suction cup onto the screen directly above the Home button.

Pry Display Assembly
3 minPull up firmly on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to gently pop the bottom edge of the display free.

1 minHinge the display assembly up from the bottom edge to an angle of 90 degrees relative to the rear case.

Unscrew Display Bracket
2 minRemove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the metal display cable bracket to the logic board.

1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal cable bracket out of the rear case.

3 minDisconnect the front camera, LCD, and digitizer cables from the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

Unscrew Speaker Module
2 minRemove the two Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the bottom right corner of the rear case.

Extract Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minGently insert a spudger under the loudspeaker module to pry it off the contact pads and lift it out.

Insert Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module with the corner cavity and press it firmly down so the spring contacts align properly.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the two Phillips screws to hold the loudspeaker module in place.

Reconnect Display Cables
3 minCarefully snap the digitizer, LCD, and front camera flex cables back onto their logic board sockets.

Reinstall Bracket Shield
2 minPosition the display cable bracket over the connectors and tighten the three Phillips screws.

Snap Glass into Frame
2 minLower the display assembly onto the phone and press along the top and side edges until it snaps completely flush into place.

2 minReinstall the two Pentalobe screws beside the Lightning connector using your P2 screwdriver.
