Safety
- Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from fine glass shards if the screen is severely cracked.

Power Off the iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone completely before beginning disassembly to prevent electrical shorts.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnbolt the two 3.6 mm Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning connector port.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the glass screen directly above the Home button to create a firm seal.

Pry Display Assembly
3 minPull up gently on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool beneath the bottom edge to unclip the screen.

Release Side Clips
2 minSlide the plastic opening tool along the left and right edges to pop the remaining screen clips free from the frame.

Open Screen to 90 Degrees
1 minGently tilt the bottom edge of the display up to a 90-degree angle relative to the rear case. Do not open further to avoid straining delicate cables.

Remove Cable Bracket Screws
2 minRemove the three Phillips #00 screws securing the display assembly cable bracket to the logic board.

Detach Cable Bracket
1 minLift the metal display cable bracket out of the phone using tweezers and place it aside.

Disconnect Front Camera Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the front-facing camera and sensor cable connector straight up from its socket.

Disconnect Digitizer Cable
1 minPry up the digitizer cable connector from the logic board using your spudger.

Disconnect LCD Cable
1 minLift the LCD cable connector out of its socket on the logic board.

Separate Display Assembly
1 minRemove the front display assembly completely from the rear enclosure.

Unscrew Earpiece Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws securing the earpiece speaker bracket at the top of the display.

Remove Earpiece Speaker
1 minLift the metal bracket off, then use tweezers to lift out the earpiece speaker.

Detach Sensor Cable Assembly
2 minGently pry up the front-facing camera and sensor cable assembly from the display frame.

Unscrew Home Button Bracket
2 minRemove the two Phillips #00 screws securing the Home button bracket at the bottom of the screen.

Remove Home Button
2 minLift off the Home button bracket, then carefully peel the Home button membrane and gasket off the glass.

Remove LCD Shield Screws
2 minUnscrew the four Phillips screws along the sides of the metal LCD shield plate.

Remove LCD Shield Plate
2 minLift the metal LCD shield plate off the old display and transfer it to the new display assembly.

Transfer Components to New Screen
5 minInstall the Home button assembly, camera cable, and earpiece speaker onto the replacement display frame.

Connect Display Cables
3 minPress the LCD, digitizer, and front camera connectors straight down onto their logic board sockets until they snap into place.

Reinstall Cable Bracket
2 minPosition the metal cable bracket over the connectors and secure it with the three Phillips #00 screws.

Snap Display into Place
2 minAlign the top tabs of the screen into the rear case, then press firmly along the side edges until the screen snaps flush.

Secure Pentalobe Screws
2 minThread and tighten the two Pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning charging port.
