Power Off iPhone
1 minPress and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the power off slider appears, then slide to turn off the phone completely.

Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning connector.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the screen glass directly above the home button to form a firm seal.

Pry Up Display Assembly
3 minGently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to lever the bottom edge of the display away from the frame.

Open Display to 90 Degrees
1 minPivot the bottom edge of the front panel up, hinging it at the top end to a 90-degree angle relative to the rear case.

Remove Cable Bracket Screws
2 minRemove the three Phillips #000 screws holding the metal front panel cable bracket to the logic board.

Detach Cable Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the metal front panel cable bracket out of the phone.

Disconnect Front Camera Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the front-facing camera flex cable straight up from its logic board socket.

Disconnect Digitizer Cable
2 minPry the digitizer cable connector straight up off its socket on the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect LCD Cable
2 minPry the LCD display cable connector off the logic board using the tip of a spudger.

Separate Display Assembly
1 minLift the display assembly away from the rear enclosure completely and place it face-down on a clean surface.

Remove Home Button Bracket Screws
2 minRemove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the home button bracket to the display assembly.

Remove Home Button Bracket
1 minLift the metal home button bracket off the display assembly and set it aside.

Pry Home Button Ribbon Cable
2 minCarefully slide a spudger beneath the home button flex cable contacts to break the adhesive securing it to the screen frame.

Remove Old Home Button
2 minGently push the home button face inward from the front side of the screen assembly to detach it and its rubber gasket.

Install New Home Button
3 minAlign the replacement home button and rubber gasket into the front glass opening, pressing gently from the back to seat the adhesive.
