   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button at the top of the iPhone until the power off slider appears. Slide to completely switch off the phone before starting.

   Remove the bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the front screen glass just above the Home button assembly. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.

   Pry open the display assembly

   Gently pull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic prying tool beneath the glass panel edge. Work around the bottom corners to pop the display free from the rear casing.

   Unscrew the display cable bracket

   Remove the two 1.2 mm, one 1.6 mm, and one 3.0 mm Phillips #000 screws securing the metal display bracket to the logic board.

   Remove the display cable bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the metal display connector bracket off the logic board and set it aside.

   Disconnect the display flex cables

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pop off the front camera/sensor flex, digitizer, and LCD connector cables from the logic board.

   Separate the display assembly

   Lift the entire display assembly completely off the rear case and store it in a safe area.

   Unscrew the battery connector bracket

   Remove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery connector bracket to the logic board.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up off its socket on the logic board using the pointed tip of a spudger.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the three Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker enclosure to the bottom of the case.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Insert a plastic prying tool beneath the loudspeaker and lift it out of the bottom section of the phone.

    Disconnect the antenna cable

    Use a spudger to gently lever the bottom antenna cable connector off its socket on the logic board.

    Unscrew the Lightning connector assembly

    Remove the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the Lightning port, headphone jack, and flex ribbon to the metal rear case.

    Pry up the headphone jack and microphone

    Carefully pry the headphone jack and lower microphone out of their recessed rubber housings using a spudger.

    Peel out the damaged Lightning assembly

    Slide a flat prying tool under the thin flex cable to break the adhesive backing and remove the old assembly from the phone.

    Position the new Lightning port assembly

    Align the replacement Lightning connector flex assembly in the bottom of the rear case and press down firmly to secure the adhesive.

    Secure the Lightning assembly screws

    Reinstall the seven Phillips #000 screws to hold the Lightning port, headphone jack, and microphone in place.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Place the loudspeaker back into position over the Lightning cable and reinstall its three Phillips screws.

    Reconnect the antenna and battery cables

    Press the antenna cable back onto its socket, then snap the battery connector into place and reattach its protective metal bracket.

    Reconnect the display cables

    Align and gently press down the LCD, digitizer, and camera flex cables onto the logic board until they snap firmly into place.

    Reinstall the display cable bracket

    Place the metal display bracket over the connectors and tighten the four Phillips #000 screws.

    Snap the display assembly closed

    Hook the top tabs of the display into the rear case, then press down around the edges until the screen clicks flush into place.

    Fasten the bottom pentalobe screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws adjacent to the newly installed Lightning connector.
